ALI DOUGLASS

Hi! I'm Ali. I love to paint and create art by hand. I was born in Muncie, Indiana and after enjoying life in Boston, Kansas City, New York City, and San Francisco, I am happy to be residing in Asheville, NC. I have been working as an illustrator for over thirteen years, illustrating magazines, newspapers, greeting cards, advertising, and more than 25 books. I have served as the Vice President of the San Francisco Society of Illustrators and currently teach online at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My work has been recognized by American Illustration, Step Inside Design, L.A. Society of Illustrators, readymade.com , sfgirlbybay.com , apartmenttherapy.com, and my Grandmothers. Books I have illustrated for American Girl have been winners of the 2008 Children's Choice Award, International Reading Association and Children's Book Council, and winner of the 2007 Excellence in Financial Literacy Award (EIFLE), Institute for Financial Literacy.
