Steve Brodner wins Society of Illustrators’ Gold Medal for New Yorker piece
World renowned illustrator, Steve Brodner, won the Society of Illustrators Gold Medal in the editorial category for this piece entitled “Reservoir Runners”. As Steve writes: “This was a standalone piece for The New Yorker. The art directors, Chris Curry and Caroline Mailhot, wanted a portrait of the unique kind of New York athelete who will carry on no matter what. So I arrived early one morning at the Central Park Reservoir track and faithfully recorded the scene. Essentially the piece painted itself. It’s always great when that happens.” Congratulations Steve!
