"Cooper Kelly" is actually a pen name adopted by the artist Harvey Stevenson to represent one of his various illustration styles. Mr. Stevenson found this solution to help resolve confusion among clients and art directors about his various portfolios! Mr. Stevenson has illustrated over 60 books for children for a wide range of publishers in the USA and in Europe, including: HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Hyperion, Farrar Strauss & Giroux, Clarion, Harcourt, Greenwillow, Orchard, Boyd's Mills Press, Good Night Our World, Disney, L'Ecole des Loisirs and Gallimard. In addition, he has illustrated for countless clients in advertising and communication.
Born in New England, Mr. Stevenson started his career as an art director in advertising agencies in New York, and in Paris, France. He is now a full-time illustrator, graphic designer, and painter and divides his time between Paris and an island on the French Atlantic coast. Mr.Stevenson will be publishing his first interactive children's book (for I-Pad) in Spring, 2014.
