Priscilla Lamont graduated from Canterbury College of Art, quite a long time ago with a degree in Graphic Design. She recently moved back to the Canterbury area, to an idyllic Kentish village, from the equally idyllic Suffolk coast, where she had a studio on the beach. She now lives with her partner David (they originally met at college) and her eccentric dog Bonzo, who may soon be starring in his own story. Whether drawing human or animal characters, Priscilla always likes to include some humour, if at all possible. In addition to illustration work, she also enjoys primary school visits, and watercolour portraits of both adults and children. Her interests include sailing, scuba diving, salsa dancing and hiking, as opportunities arise. The salsa dancing largely takes place in the kitchen on the spur of the moment!

Priscilla has an impressive list of clients which includes: Hamish Hamilton Children's Books, Methuen, Puffin Books, Cambridge University Press, Walker Books, Egmont, Letts Publishing, Rigby (Reed Ed), Kingfisher Books, Frances Lincoln, Orchard Books, Miles Kelly, ACC Children's Classics, Dorling Kindersley, Bodley Head, Oxford University Press, Lion Publishing, Crown Publishers NY, Parabel, Gyldendal, Human & Rousseau, Flammarion, Albin Michel Jeunesse, Candlewick Press, Ravensburger, Raben and Sjogren, and Flachs.

Additionally, she has been recognized for many of her publications including: The Troublesome Pig -- Nominated for the Kurt Maschler Award See Mouse Run -- Nominated for the Smarties Prize DK Playtime Rhymes -- Silver Award/Parents Play & Learn Awards 1998 The Queen's Birthday Hat -- Winner of The Scottish Arts Council Children's Book Award for Emerging Readers
