North Carolina native Hillary Wilson Sher received a bachelor’s in science degree in biology from High Point University assuming she would either pursue research or attend medical school. After learning that the field of medical illustration existed her senior year of college, she decided to combine her two great loves - illustration and science. in 2018 she received a Masters of Arts in Medical and Biological Illustration, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Since, then she has been a keynote speaker and provided seminars as a pioneer of medical illustrations on skin of color for Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI), provided illustrations for the National Aquarium in Washington, D.C., Duke University Primary Care, and the Maria Parham Oncology Centers. Hillary been featured guest lecturer on the at Johns Hopkins and is currently working with a dermatological and engineering group specializing in pathology on deep melanin skin tones. She is excited to have found per passion. In her spare time, Hillary enjoys playing the piano, riding her motorcycle, running, and compiling a list of names for the dogs she will have one day. In addition to medical illustrations, she has worked with Virgin, Simon and Schuster, Wizards of the Coast, Paizo, Marvel and PBS among others.
