Michael Machira Mwangi is a 27-year-old artist from Nairobi, Kenya. Growing up, television, movies, novels, and comics became a window into new worlds and experiences. These, along with his experience of growing up African have influenced his work greatly. Particularly, story and culture are a major focus in his work. He believes that art presents a unique opportunity to present different lived experiences and stories from emerging voices.
